REQUIREMENTS TO BUY WHOLESALE
Most manufacturers, wholesale distributors and Agents require you to have a valid reseller's certificate. In most cases the wholesaler will ask you to provide a Resale Certificate as proof that the property is being purchased for resale. So, I have included a few required things you must have to begin buying wholesale.
1. Sole proprietorship, Corporation or Limited Liability Corporation (LLC) (required)
2. Reseller Certificate or a Tax Identification number (required)
3. Bank Account (required)
4. Phone, Address (address)
A Sole proprietorship is the fastest and easiest business structure to start. Simply contact your Secretary of States Office then go and fill out the paperwork and select a tax structure and you are in business. However, please note as you grow I recommend establishing a LLC as this provide the appropriate protection and requires one person to form.
NOTE:
With a reseller's certificate you do not have to pay taxes on the items you purchase for wholesale. Also, there are lots of wholesalers on the internet who won't ask you for a reseller ID. These are not genuine wholesalers. They are people who are themselves resellers. They buy products from the wholesalers and charge you an extra amount.
NOTE:
When purchasing from overseas wholesalers never wire money or send cash. You have no protection. It is recommended to use a credit card such as American Express that protects you from any fraudulently activities. Or use a letter of credit or other creative ways to protect you monies until you have the product in hand.

Credit card payments (and Paypal) are not usually accepted. It is very difficult to get a credit card in China, so typically you will have to pay by non-secure payment methods such as Western Union and wire transfer. Neither method is traceable so you should always place a very small order at first with a new supplier so you don’t lose too much money if something goes awry.
